Busy Rural Village Hall has application accepted for installation of AED

Fitz Village Hall

Tina, along with Lynne and Gerald submitted an application for one of our AEDs after having heard about the Henry Angell-James Memorial Trust and the work that we do to serve communities like these.

Fitz Village Hall benefits a small, rural community which serves 3 hamlets with approximately 20-30 dwellings in each hamlet. Henry, whom the charity was formed in honour of after he passed away from fatal cardiac arrest, spent a lot of time in his youth at Fitz as it was close to where he lived and he had friends there as a teenager.

As is always the case, the village hall is vital to the community, with coffee mornings, yoga, crafts workshops, monthly flower groups and a friendship group for over 55’s. It is situated on a very busy road which is popular with cyclists. The AED is very visible and the Fitz Village Hall funded pedestrian access to the AED, so that anyone, at any time can access it.

“The community as a whole really appreciates the donation from the HAJMT.  It makes a big difference to a small rural community like ours.  Thank you the HAJMT” said Tina Swain, former committee member of the Fitz Village Hall.
